- Our mission is to promote government accountability and transparency by providing to the Board of County Commissioners fair and objective oversight, insight, and foresight into County operations for the benefit of Hillsborough County residents.
- In addition to adhering to the ethical principles stated in Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards and the Institute of Internal Auditor’s Code of Ethics, our Office adheres to the following values in carrying out our mission.
- Quality work products: We will strive to issue high quality audit and management advisory reports that present significant, timely, and useful information for the Board of County Commissioners, County management and the citizens of Hillsborough County.
- Respect for associates: The office values the diverse contributions of each staff member. We will strive for teamwork and will treat each other with consideration, dignity, and respect.
- Respect for audit clients: Each staff member is expected to communicate with clients in a friendly, supportive way, and to remain fair and objective.
- Professional integrity: Staff members are expected to conduct themselves in an objective, independent, professional manner at all times, to be honest and considerate, to be highly productive and efficient, and to work to maintain a high level of credibility for the Hillsborough County Office of the Internal Performance Auditor.
- Continuing improvement: The office will strive to improve professionally and intellectually through continuing education, gaining new skills, and participation in professional auditing organizations.
